This coming weekend is a great one in our diocese and in our parish! On Saturday, Bishop Burbidge will ordain eight men to the priesthood of Jesus Christ!
It is a great day for our parish as one of these men ordained is one of our own, Fr. David Witherow! Fr. Witherow’s family converted to Catholicism twenty years ago. We give thanks to the parents of our young priest who made the decision to become Catholic. Our Lord is never outdone in generosity!
Fr. David’s First Mass of Thanksgiving will be Sunday at 9:30am Mass. He will be available for first blessings after Mass.
As we begin the month of June, we are mindful of the anniversary that will occur later this month. While those of confused lifestyles will try to overshadow Our Lord’s month of the Sacred Heart, the entire world in mindful of what occurred last year on June 24th: Roe vs. Wade was overturned by our Supreme Court! How many children are alive today as a result of that decision.
We should not miss the date last year. Every year June 24th is the Solemnity of the Birth of St. John the Baptist! John the Baptist leapt in his mother’s womb when the Blessed Virgin Mary greeted St. Elizabeth at the Visitation. Two unborn children – One of them the God-man – interacted consciously in their mothers’ wombs! Every unborn child is a human person with great dignity.
Last year, June 24th was also the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus! June is the month of the Sacred Heart. Jesus has taken on our human nature to show us our dignity; to show us His Love; to show us how to live this life. Each human person is created by God – He makes no mistakes – with a purpose. Regardless of one’s struggles and mistakes, he/she is a son/daughter of The All Merciful, All Loving Father!
There is much for us to consider as we celebrate the month of the Sacred Heart; the month of the Birth of St. John the Baptist; the month of the overturning of Roe vs. Wade!

¡Este fin de semana tendremos un gran día para nuestra diócesis y en nuestra parroquia! El sábado, ¡el Obispo Burbridge ordenará ocho hombres al sacerdocio de Jesucristo!
Es un gran día para nuestra parroquia ya que uno de esos hombres ordenados es uno de los nuestros, ¡el Padre David Witherow! La familia del Padre Witherow se convirtió al catolicismo hace veinte años. Le damos gracias a los padres de nuestro joven sacerdote quienes tomaron la decisión de convertirse en católicos. ¡Nuestro Señor nunca se queda corto en generosidad!
La primera Misa de agradecimiento del Padre David será la Misa de las 9:30am del domingo. Él estará disponible para dar primeras bendiciones después de Misa.
Mientras comenzamos el mes de Junio, tomemos en cuenta el aniversario que ocurrirá mas tarde en el mes. Mientras que aquellos con estilos de vida confundidos van a tratar de opacar el mes del Sagrado Corazón de Nuestro Señor, el mundo entero se acordará de lo que ocurrió el 24 de junio del año pasado: ¡Roe vs Wade fue volcado por nuestra Corte Suprema! Cuántos niños están vivos hoy como resultado de esa decisión.
No debemos olvidar la fecha del año pasado. ¡El 24 de junio de cada año es la Solemnidad del Nacimiento de San Juan Bautista! Juan Bautista saltó en el vientre de su madre cuando la Santísima Virgen María saludó a Santa Isabel en la Visitación. ¡Dos niños no nacidos – Uno de ellos, el Dios-hombre –interactuaron conscientemente en los vientres de sus madres! Cada niño no nacido es una persona humana con gran dignidad.
El año pasado, el 24 de junio también fue la Solemnidad del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. Jesús ha tomado nuestra naturaleza humana para mostrarnos nuestra dignidad; para mostrarnos Su Amor; para mostrarnos como vivir esta vida. Cada persona humana es creada por Dios – Él no comete errores – con un propósito. Sin importar dificultades de uno, ¡él/ella es un hijo(a) del Todo Misericordioso, Completamente Amoroso Padre!
¡Hay muchas cosas para que nosotros consideremos mientras celebramos el mes del Sagrado Corazón; el mes del Nacimiento de San Juan Bautista; el mes del vuelco de Roe vs. Wade!
