Congratulations to all of our First Holy Communicants of the last two weeks! May your faith and love for Jesus in the Holy Eucharist grow each day!
This coming week will have bishops all over! Archbishop Broglio of the Military Archdiocese will be here Tuesday and Wednesday evenings to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation to our young people. Please consider offering a Hail Mary for each of our confirmandi. All total, we will have about 130 confirmed at Holy Trinity this year.
Our own Bishop Burbidge will ordain two men to the priesthood on Saturday, June 1st. This will be the final year our bishop will ordain men at our parish as the cathedral’s renovation will be complete later this summer. If you have never had the opportunity to witness an ordination, it can be life-changing. It is hard not to be affected by the young men laying down their lives for Our Lord and His people.
Each man will make solemn promises to God: perpetual chastity, obedience to his Bishop, consecration to Christ for the salvation of all, to pray daily the Divine Office, to offer the sacraments faithfully and reverently, to assist the Bishop’s mission; and to preach the Gospel and to teach the Catholic Faith.
Some skeptics may respond to such an event as a sad, waste of a life! Can it be a waste to give of oneself to his Creator? It is only sad for one who has little understanding of God and the true meaning of life. The joy at an ordination is palpable! God’s love always brings joy and peace!
May we have many more men from our HT families embrace Our Lord’s invitation to follow Him in the priesthood!

¡Felicitaciones a todos los niños que han recibido su Primera Comunión en las dos últimas semanas! ¡Que su fe por Jesús en la Sagrada Eucaristía crezca cada día!
¡Esta próxima semana vamos a tener Obispos por todos lados! El Arzobispo Broglio de la Arquidiócesis para los Militares va a estar aquí el martes y el miércoles para administrar el sacramento de la Confirmación a nuestros jóvenes. Por favor consideren ofrecer un Ave María por cada uno de nuestros candidatos. Este año vamos a tener un total de 130 candidatos confirmados en Holy Trinity.
Nuestro propio Obispo Burbidge va a ordenar dos hombres al sacerdocio el sábado 1º de junio. Este será el último año que el Obispo va a ordenar hombres en nuestra parroquia ya que las renovaciones a la catedral concluirán a finales de este verano. Si nunca han tenido la oportunidad de presenciar una orden al sacerdocio, puede que les cambie la vida. No es difícil ser afectado por los jóvenes entregando su vida a Nuestro Señor y su pueblo. Cada hombre hará promesas solemnes a Dios: castidad perpetua, obediencia a su Obispo, consagración a Cristo por la salvación de todos, rezar diariamente el Oficio Divino, ofrecer los sacramentos fiel y reverentemente, asistir al Obispo en su misión; y predicar el Evangelio y enseñar la Fe Católica.
¡Algunos escépticos tal vez responderán a tal evento como uno triste y una pérdida de vida! ¿Puede ser una perdida entregarse a sí mismo a su Creador? Solamente es triste para el que tiene poco entendimiento de Dios y del verdadero significado de vida. ¡La alegría en una ordenación es palpable! ¡El amor de Dios siempre trae paz y alegría!
¡Ojala que tengamos más hombres de familias de nuestra Holy Trinity que acojan la invitación de seguirlo al Él en el sacerdocio!
